In your opinion, do you believe that Senator McCarthy took it too far when accusing these people of being connected to communism, or was it the right thing to do?​

Many of the communists rooted out by McCarthy and his allies were spies or had ties to Russia. Alger Hiss is one of these spies, but was convicted rather for perjuring himself on this charge. I believe he (McCarthy) was right in doing what he did, as rather than allowing such people to take root in our government, he fought back against them.
