If you are not taking this course for Advanced credit, you do not have to complete this assessment. For this assessment, you will be given a quote from each of the three Chinese philosophies: Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism. You will need to research each quote and find out how it influences the beliefs of people today.

You will write three paragraphs. There should be one paragraph for each philosophy. Each paragraph should include the quote and a one-paragraph response to each of three questions.

Take a few minutes to review the slide show that includes the quotes and questions, then continue to follow the directions below.

Remember, in order to completely answer the questions you will have to research how the ideas expressed in the quote have influenced the world today. You will submit your final analysis as one document that should include a total of three paragraphs. You will need to write a one-paragraph analysis for each quote that addresses the following:

identifies the meaning of each quote
explains how each quote is consistent with the beliefs of one of the ancient Chinese philosophies
explains how the beliefs expressed in each quote are evident in the beliefs of people today
