In Rome, the citizens elected government officials to make decisions on their behalf as part of a republican government. Both systems of democracy—direct and representative—have influenced the US political system. Some important philosophers are Socrate and Plato. Some important themes in philosophy are the universe (Land,sky sea) is put together in an orderly way and is subject to absolute and unchanging laws; and people can understand these laws through logic and reason. It influences the development of democracy because Plato thought that government should be run by wisest not the richest.

a main characteristic in these books is that un most of them we find certain "norms" of behavior, as is the case of the bible that has it's commandments. these rules are to regulate the behavior of believers and faithful of their respective faith.
