     The Historical Figure I have chosen is William Shakespeare. He is regarded as one of the greatest wordsmiths of all time as well as the greatest English writer of all time. Shakespeare's plays have been translated into all major living languages and have been performed more than those of any other playwright.

      I have deemed Shakespeare as and important Historical Figure because of the diversity of the genres of his works which are literal masterpieces. He wrote the blockbuster plays of his day. Many will agree with me that even 400 years later his works still deserve to be celebrated around the world.
