In this lesson, you learned about the ways that U. S. foreign policy shifted toward imperialism in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In this assessment, you will review
several events that involved the United States during this period and decide what type of foreign policy each represents
Take a few minutes to think about what you've learned and use this knowledge to complete the assessment. You will:
1. Review the grading rubric before beginning the assessment.
2. Read the detailed directions for the 03.01 Assignment, and choose three events from the list. You will need to choose one event that represents
isolationism, one event that represents intervention, and one event that represents imperialism.
3. For each event, write two paragraphs. The first paragraph should explain details of the event and describe why it represents a specific U. S. foreign policy
approach. The second paragraph should discuss U. S. motivations for the event.
