Question number one would probably be they are saying that they aren't going to let Europe have power over them.

And for the second question number one, it might be that they refuse to take part for or against the Europeans.

Question number two could be that they definitely won't respond kindly, it'll most likely involve them fighting about it over war. They want their freedom and they are going to keep it.

And for the last one, only when their rights aren't respected anymore or they are completely ignored and invaded really will they go to war.
