With life, you should be able to have the liberty to do as you please (within reason of course) and pursue happiness however you would like. The government should not dictate how one pursues their own enjoyment, unless it is an immoral act.

These rights will always apply to the "ideals" of today, as that is the ideal that this country was built off of, although an ideal that it didn't fully always follow. As for issues today, I believe that it applies to practically everything we have today. For example things like the legalization of Marijuana.

I believe illegalizing marijuana is an infringement of these rights in my personal opinion as why are things like tobacco and alcohol still legal, while marijuana isn't? When it has been proven both alcohol and tobacco are worse? People are going to jail over something that isn't as bad as a legal substance and that is an infringement of the pursuit of all the rights listed above. So why would the government restrict one's right to pursue happiness doing something barely harmful for their help?
