The benefits of having no official language is that most government documents and papers are written in several different languages. This allows immigrants to feel more comfortable in their transition to becoming United States citizens without the stress of dealing with language barriers. One problem of not having an official language is that language unites people. Communication problems exist among people and communities that speak different languages. There are many other benefits and problems as well.
