WILL GIVE 30 POINTS AND BRAINLIEST IF YOU ACTUALLY DO THE ASSIGNMENT!! Write one paragraph that explains why the constitutional right you chose is most important. You can use the topic sentence just the way it is, or you can change it a little. Remember to give your paragraph a conclusion — don't just stop writing!

Prewriting

1. Complete the following sentence: The most important constitutional right that Americans have is . . .

2. Why do you think so? List at least three reasons why that right is central to the daily life of an American.

It might be best to write only three to five different ideas here so that your paragraph isn't too long.

3. The ideas you just wrote down for question 2 are the body of your paragraph. Restate them as evidence that supports your topic sentence.

Now take your thoughts from your prewriting and craft a detailed paragraph that identifies what constitutional right you feel is most important and describes why you make that choice.

This assignment is worth 20 points.

Freedom of Speach is the most important amendment of the bill of rights in my opinion. For one, America is a very diverse country, meaning there are a lot of people with many conflicting ideas and opinions. I think that people should be allowed to discuss their religion or their feelings about the government. Also, America was founded on questioning authority. The patriots believed that the British government had become corrupt. If it wasn’t for the patriots questioning the government the U. S would never have existed. Freedom of speech allows people to discuss their own problems with the government and I think this helps it. If the government notices their flaws, they can fix them and hopefully make the country a better place. My final thought is that people should be allowed to believe what they want. People can have opinions about the government or opinions about religion, I don't think it's the government's responsibility to change that. The U. S was founded by a group of rebels, and they have shown that sometimes rebels are right, it only makes sense to allow people to let their voice be heard.
