What was the Quartering Act? o The British instituted a new act (law) that charged a quarter duty ($.25) on all imported goods.
O Parliament forced all colonial merchants to send one quarter of their profits to Great Britain.
The colonists would divide the duties collected and were able to keep one quarter of the money in the colonies.
o One part of the Coercive Acts in which the colonists were forced to house and feed British soldiers in their own homes!
