What is the advantage of the state government making laws for the people? Why?

The state government has a better understanding of what the people of that state needs, and can make general laws based on the needs as well as wants of the people. The local government does this job even better.

The federal government only makes laws that regard international affairs, as well as general laws to govern all the land.
