Why did China and India evolve slower and differently in the Neolithic period compared to the Nile and Mesopotamian societies?

The period slowly started in India from the southern states such as Tamil Nadu. While in east Asia such as china the neolithic period spread into southern and northern parts around 4500 years ago and had possible domestication of rice, mostly along the river valleys.
