1. Of the 6 principles outlined in Chapter 1 and in our PowerPoint/lectures, which do you think is most important? Why is it important? The 6 principles are: 1. Individual Dignity (Limited Government power, Liberty, Social Welfare) 2. Equal Protection of the law (14th amendment) 3. Participation in Decision Making (Free, Fair, Frequent Elections) 4. Majority Rule: One person, One vote (Except for the Electoral college) 5. Political Freedom (We can participate on many levels) 6. Economic Freedom (Capitalism and Social Welfare) 2. Which do you think our country does well? Why do you think we do this aspect of democracy well? 3. Which do you think our country falls short or fails at? Why do you think we aren't doing well? 4. How do you think we, as a country or community, can do better at the principle that we are failing in?
