Why would a diverse population be more resistant to the disease, predation, and invasion?

In a  diverse population, the population has evolved to many forms because of hybridization of different groups and the adaptation to the environment in terms of the population present and the environmental conditions. These through time helps the animals to grow more features to adapt to the new environment
