Protest is an effective method to lead change. Reasons being are that they attract attention to whatever issue is being protested, they bring socially and economically marginalized groups to the foreground, and they promote solidarity among groups. The Woman’s March on Washington had an estimated one million participants from 670 protest events across the country – likely the largest protest in history.
