Why did nations adopt authoritarian governments in the 1930's? *

Well, for one thing the stock market crash of 1929 happened and severely damaged the world economy and threw the world into the great depression. This was not that long after the largest war the world had seen (WWI). The Germans specifically had there economy crippled by the harsh treaty of Versailles that made them pay for the war and accept full blame. The economy was already damaged and then the great depression pushed their economic situation over the edge. Their currency was worth practically nothing and people often burned the mark (german currency) for fire fuel or bought bread with a wheelbarrow full of bills. Germans were outraged and humiliated by all of this. Many of the countries that became authoritarian had just become democracies after WWI. These new governments were inexperienced and were facing challenging problems. Democratic parties ruled mostly new independent countries. The governments in charge were democratic and were viewed as the ones letting the people down. People tend to vote for their money and financial security so the democratic parties got voted out. The old radical anti-democratic elites and young nationalist extremists were left. The USSR sent a call of revoloution that a lot of young people resonated with. They thought that they wouldn't be poor if it wasn't for the capitalist and democratic government. These leaders sold themselves as wise, tactful, leaders that could destroy any problem in their path. Rallies that promised a great Germany, Hungary, or poland were appealing to say the least and brought pride to the downtrodden public. Plz give brainliest
