What happened to the royal family? Do you think their fate was necessary? Why do you think the Soviets acted the way they did?

The royal family were assassinated. their fate was necessary because the Romanov's were a symbol of totalitarianism during a period were the soviet union was suffering due to the royal family's decision to participate in the world war resulting is massive casualties and the lack of food for the Russian population whilst the royal family lived frivolously i.e the czar "Nicholas"  bought his wife the Faberge egg which is worth 33 million dollars as of today. The soviets needed a new form of  government who'm would think for the betterment of the people of Russia, by killing the royal family communism would take place because it promised that everything will be shared to everyone equally.  the soviets/Bolsheviks acted the way they did i.e killing the family because the family were a symbol of autocracy(totalitarianism) because they had absolute power over Russia.

here are some events that to cause increased conflict between the north and south

1) mexican cession- gaining modern day california, utah, arizona, and new mexico from mexico. caused southern and northern politicians to fight over whether or not there would be slavery in these newly acquired territories.

2) uncle tom's cabin- this famous book described the cruelty of slavery in the south during the antebellum period, causing more northerners to support abolition and southerners to resent the book as they felt it unfairly depicted southern society.

3) kansas- nebraska act- disagreements over whether or not kansas and nebraska would be free or slave states caused issues between northern and southern politicians in congress.

4) bleeding kansas- this fighting took place in kansas after congress allowed this territory to vote on whether or not they would have slavery. citizens were killed and buildings were destroyed during this fighting.
