Could Tsar Nicholas II have done anything different in order to stay in power and prevent the Russian Revolutions from taking place? If so, what? If not, why not? Support your argument with facts

Yes, Tsar Nicholas II could have controlled various events from happening. This led to Russian revolution taking place and a disruption in the entire nation.

The arrests made by Tsar Nicholas II led to violence. If in case this were stopped, the consequences of the same could have been different.

St. Petersburgh was the main place where violence activities started due to the acts of Tsar Nicholas II.A series of violent events resulted in riots, innocent killings and arrests of important men.Tsar Nicholas II also could've not left the capital city and thereby could have abstained himself from assuming the Army's command.The arrest of the families could've been avoided and this would have not led to him being murdered by the senior of the same family a few months later.

Hence, Tsar Nicholas II could have done the above events to get rid of the Russian revolution taking place and wouldn't have been murdered.

Tsars were until 1905 absolute rulers in Russia. It was the social outbreak of the democratic revolution of 1905 thar forced them to give more rights to citizens and institute a parliament with some powers. Russia needed more democratic reforms and modernize its political system. In 1914, Russia was an economically backward country in Europe, having failed to fully industrialized when the war broke out, unlike Germany, France of Britain. This hindered its army and its capacity to wage modern warfare against the German industrial-military machine. Thus, so to speak, tsar Nicholas II failed to do his homework.
