What is your current opinion (drawing from your own experiences) on the health-care system in the United States?

The health-care system in the United States has advantages like generating a lot of research and development because of the amount of funding that is available and how companies that develop medical equipment and technologies can invest in innovation.  However, there are a lot of problems in terms of access and affordability in the system.

Explanation:

The health-care system in the United States has many positive attributes, but there are also so serious shortcomings as the recent crisis with the corona virus is illustrating.  There is little in the way of an overarching national public system that can institute a coordinated response. With the number of private hospitals, it is up to each individual institution to plan for and to implement their response. This also means that care is uneven depending on the socioeconomic status of the patients and the people in need of care.

the three-fifths compromise was proposed by james wilson and roger sherman, who were both delegates for the constitutional convention of 1787. however, the three-fifth compromise has its roots further back in history, dating back to the continental congress in 1783. the compromise was a result of the apportionment of taxes being related to land values.
