This meant that eventually a male descendant of Eve would appear in human history who would defeat Satan and give hope to the human race. This man would redeem men from bondage to sin and restore the right relationship of man to God. This man would be the Savior. God's promise of a future Savior—given at the beginning, at the time of the Fall—would ultimately be fulfilled in God's own Son, Jesus Christ.
