Compare and contrast the portrayal of imperialism in the political cartoon "the white man’s burden” and the kipling poem of the same name.

The concept of enslaving the inhabitants of one Asian country on the other side of the world appealed to Kipling. The White Man's Burden was published solely to persuade Americans not to grant the Philippines independence.

On the other side, the political cartoon clearly depicts how the white guy carries all other races on his back and that they would not prosper without him.

This poem was composed in 1899, during the Philippine Revolutionary War against the United States of America (USA).Many readers nowadays are probably unaware that the Philippines were colonized by the United States. By today's standards, the poem is exceedingly offensive.Another race is described as "frowned upon individuals" who are "half children and half devil," according to the author.He condemns them for not acknowledging white people as "better than themselves," as well as colonizers who "brought them into the light of day."In today's English-speaking world, the term "white man's burden" is linked with English racism and Imperialism.
