How did traditional roles in canadian society change to support the war effort? how do you think many women felt after leaving their jobs after war?

The  women were required to support the war effort and they have to asume jobs usually held by man.They felt bad as job creates income and income creates independence for the one receiving that income.

The war effort was supported by women specilly During the Second World War, when the role of women Canadian society changed dramatically. Canada needed  women help and support the war effort from their  homes.

From 11 million  people (the population of Canada during WWII), only about 600,000 Canadian women had permanent jobs when the war started. Because of the war the figures double to 1.200.000.

As the war finished and Canada was part of the allies who win the conflict then they have to withdraw some of the job positions gained during the war. This, made the Canadian women to feel bad as a part of their independence was lost.
