The 1812 war is known as "the second independency war" was a conflict that was held between: United States, England and their allies. As the American independency was gained in 1760, the 1812 war support the United States position as a new country.

The causes of this conflict are  

1.The European War and the Economy. In Europe there were constant confrontations between England and France, they use to create trade barriers against each other goods imports and exports. Especially British demanded a fee to be paid for all the French ships that wanted to transport different goods. The US thought the British would become Economically stronger than any other nation with these measures and that the independence was in risk. Because of this the war was declared.

2.Maritime Issues. As England had the Naval power on that time they sought to control overseas maritime power and United States opposed to this foreign policy declaring war.

3.Expansionism. England and France had expansionist desires Specially France who was ruled by Napoleon. As United states believed that their own land and interest were at stake, they sought to go into war to protect their independence.

4.War hawks’ pressure. The War hawks were a group of congressmen from the republican party that suport going into war to stablish a deep root in the declaration of the United States independence.

5.The Embargo Act. This was an act of the United States that sought to prohibit that England ships left the United States Ports. This was seeing as an economic war act by the British and it supported going into war with the United States.
