Compare the ways that herodotus and thucydides approached the writing of history

Herodotus liked to sensationalize his stories and used hyperbole. He was more of a historic storyteller than an accurate historian. He liked to emphasize a lesson.

Thucydides was a factual historian who aimed to record and pass on accurate information about what happened and when. He did not sensationalize his stories and kept to the actual happenings.
