During the Industrialization Era many factories and businesses were in need of a large number of workers. As the working demand was high they hired non-skilled workers at very low wages. These actions lead to a lot of working accidents, as people were not skilled nor prepare to work certain machinery, the salary was really low decreasing the way of living.

The Progressive movement addressed both these issues, and many more, by introducing the Workers Compensation, which ensured a compensation to the worker if any accident happened in the workplace. The Movement also passes legislations to improve the working conditions and protection of the workers, promoting a Minimum Wage and the right to unionize.

One of the most important reforms was the Regulation of Child Labor, which restricted the type of labor and the amount of hours a child should work.
