Tammany Hall was a local organisation which started in New York and established its influence in local New York’s politics.

It started to gain much support from the Irish immigrants in order to get their votes during New York’s elections. The Organisation was actually helping the immigrants but gradually started act selfishly by bribing them and stuffed the ballot boxes with fake votes.

William Marcy, who was a petty chair maker became the Grand sachem of the organisation and amassed huge wealth. A political cartoonist had published all his wrong doings along with his ‘Ring’ which was evident caused ‘Boss tweed’ as he was famously called to face the downfall.
