Hi this is a history inference question : ) pls i need itthe malays in johor were in constant conflict with the portuguese who had seized control over melaka in 1511. in 1603, with the dutch, the johor malays seized a portuguese ship off the east coast of singapura. in the early 1620s, it was recommended to the portuguese king that forts had to be built in singapore to counter increasing dutch threats. despite so, the island had faded from view, apart from providing a background to naval battles during that period of time. question: what does the source (the paragraph above) show about the importance of singapore in the 17th century? explain your answer
