Why did the vietnamese fight the french in indochina?

There were two main reasons why the Vietnamese engaged in war with the French in Indochina. One of the reasons was that the Vietnamese wanted independence, and the other reason was that the French supported the royal family which was not popular among the people. It was the North that was leading the war against the French, as well as against the South that was supported by the French. The Viet Cong also emerged on the scene with their military, both official and guerrilla units. That led to long and bloody war in Vietnam, with the North and Viet Cong teaming up and gradually managing to overcome the South and the French, eventually freeing themselves and declaring independence. The country was led by the communist party, and communism was established all over it. The French retreated ashamed from the defeat, and signed the granting of independence of Vietnam.
