Why were the first shots at lexington, massachusetts called “the shots heard around the world”?

The reason it is called the "Shots Heard Around the World" is because no one knows who shot them, it cause a great amount of confusion, and in that one shot... 8 Americans died! In all the commotion people started drumming and sounding alarms making that one shot caused the loudest reaction and gained itself the "Shot Heard Around the World."
