I wouldn’t try to escape. Reason being, although already being treated terribly, having no rights and being forced into labor, escaping could lead to even more obscure problems. The torture methods used on slaves during that time were terrible, because during that period of time it was okay to things like that to a person of color. If I, per-say, were to escape the thought of the torture and punishments if i were to have been caught are tremendously to much to even bear. Leaving would give me a chance for freedom and a better life. But being caught, could cause worse problems for me than what i would have already been going through.
