Booker Taliaferro Washington was a Black American an author, an intellect and an educator, whose extensive contribution to the African-American community and the American society at large was very significant and highly respected and influential among the American Presidents. Having being part of the last generation of black American leaders born into slavery, he quite understood that his, had to be a role of a  leadership, developing a dominant  voice for former slaves and their descendants.
