Since 1949, Chinese government promoted the use of birth control and family planning. In the 70's their population was close to the one-billion mark, the government was worried, in 1978 they encouraged families to have no more than two children, on child being preferible. puritans we all know as were a relgion to purify the cahtlic church some of there practices were good and they did ways some relgions couldnbt but some ways wern't that good like trying to turn people into their relgion which did spark alot of mass hate to them overall there netrual and did have a semi good cause.
