On September 30, 1918, President Woodrow Wilson addressed Congress and expressed his support to women and their right to vote. The bill went to the Senate to vote but it did not reach consensus. The bill was killed. It was until August 18, 1920, that the United States Constitution granted women the right to vote with the 19th Amendment.
