Explain how the influence and reach of the newly reformed ku klux klan differed from its 1866 iteration; why were these racist ideas experiencing a resurgence throughout the 1920's.

First Ku Klux Klan movement  began in Tennessee, as a social club that brought together soldiers who had fought for the southern states, in the American Civil War (Confederate veterans). They didn't want black political establishment, and practiced assassinations and threats of violence to succeed it.

In the 1920's, was a resurgence of this movement. Not only opposed to black people, but to jews, catholics, and newly arriving immigrants such as Italians. It wasn't only nationalist but it practiced xenophobia.

The Ku KLUX KLAN was founded in 1866 by a group of radical veterans of the confederation, the founders created this sect because at this time black men began to have political power,

The Ku Kux Klan began to carry out violence against African-American voters and leaders, where more than 10 leaders were killed by the sect.

At the beginning of the years 1915 the sect resurfaced in Georgia, with racist ideas against black men, Roman Catholics, Jews and foreigners.

These racist ideas resurfaced due to the increase of immigration that America experienced at the beginning of the 20th century, having a maximum of 4 million members in 1920.
