One of the biggest concerns with programs like the Great Society is the amount of government money needed to execute the policies. The Great Society created housing assistance, welfare programs, and Medicare. These programs cost tax payers money and tip into the ideas of socialism. Liberal reforms proposed in the last couple of elections are met with similar criticism--it will cost too much money to execute.
