One of the most important causes of the Russian Revolution of 1917 was that peasants and working class people revolted against the government of Tsar Nicholas II, led by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks who were a group of revolutionaries. The result of the revolution generated what was known as the Soviet Union.

The peasants had no Access to land because the landlords made it expensive to rent. The working class of Russia worked really hard in poor conditions and were not well paid. Sometimes they were forced to work more than 14 hours. The oppressive regime of Tsar Nicolas II generated resentment in the citizens. Another important cause of the revolution was that the people wanted Russia out of the war but it didn’t happen. People were angry. Many Russians had died. Finally, the economic crises and hunger were also detonators.
