    Things that changed was first unemployment. With many people moving from the rural environment to the urban environment there was  fewer jobs that are available. That lead to more people being unemployed. Rural communities had extended families and interpersonal relationships with community members. In saying this the change from rural to urban living has resulted in a change in the family. Urban families usually consist of two parents or often a single parent and their children. Grandparents are located away from the nuclear family. When brothers and sisters become wage earners, they also leave the home of the nuclear family. That is how things changed when shifted from rural to urban living.
