Outline the structure and purpose of the united nations security council

Structure of the UN
It consists  of 11 members, five permanent members who are China, France,Russia, USA and UK and six non-permanent members elected by the UN General assembly for a two year term. Each of the five permanent members have a veto power.

The main aim of the security council, one of the six organs is for the maintenance of peace and approval of peace keeping missions of the UN.
