Asthma is a respiratory condition that usually occurs in young generations. It is a condition that can be hereditary or can be caused by environmental factors (e.g. air pollutants). During an asthma attack the bronchi of the lungs experience spasms causing a difficulty in breathing. Also, the airway becomes swollen and it produces thick mucus as a reaction to allergens and other forms of hypersensitivity. The condition can be controlled through inhalant medicines that are prescribed by physicians and cannot be bought off the counter. 

Air goes past the epiglottis and into the trachea when you breathe in. from there, it goes to your vocal cords in the larynx until it reaches the bronchi. from the bronchi, air passes into each lung.
