Assistive technology (AT) is defined as any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities.

This technology greatly helps parents and family members of a special needs child because it will enable the child to communicate his wants and needs immediately. There will be lesser time spent guessing on what he/she is trying to convey.

Immediate attention to needs and wants will satisfy the child and will lessen the instances of having tantrums or frustration in both parties.

An epidemic is a large and localized outbreak of a sickness or disease.  a pandemic is a large global outbreak of a sickness or disease.
