Tim, 19 years old, was in a motor vehicle accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt and hit his abdomen on the steering wheel. In the ER he was examined and found to have a rigid distended abdomen with LUQ pain. His hemoglobin on the CBC was 10 grams. His V/S were: B/P-100/48, P-110, and R-36. All of these symptoms are indicative of a ruptured . This organ is in the LUQ of the abdomen.
