Three precautions should be taken like take sensible safety measures around home to avoid fire hazards, Install smoke alarm should be located on the ceiling and check regularly, Have a fire escape plan and practice it regularly. 

Precautions must be observed before it will be too late to regret the effect of it. We are too complacent of everything but we take little effort of some precautionary measures and sometimes, rarely practice it.
