List the three types of fires commonly seen in the kitchen, their sources and preventions

Oil/grease, electrical, and area fires

Explanation: Oil and grease fires can happen because the oil got too hot while in the pan (why their referred to as "pan fires") the oil will start to smoke and then catch on fire. Use a thermometer to gauge the temperature and keep a metal or glass container near the pan your using to catch the grease to allow it to cool off.

Electrical fires most commonly start when the wires of interior of the appliance get in contact with water which can cause them to catch on fire. Keep all wires and appliances away from water, unplug small appliances when not using them, and clean them regularly

Area fires are when something around in the kitchen gets to hot and catches on fire,  ex: if you're using a gas stove top and your sleeve catches flame. Wear tighter clothing as loose cloths catch fire easier, replace or repair damaged/frayed wires, keep your counters clean, and place flammable objects (oven mitts, kitchen towels, recipe books, ect) away from any open flame or heated surface.
