Explanation:

A bacteria called as Chlamydia trachomatis is responsible for causing Trachoma. It is an infectious disease which can be spread by coming in direct or indirect contact with affected person's eyes or nose. It leads to conjunctivitis like symptoms in beginning followed by pain in the eye and blurred vision. The inside of the eyelid is scarred which leads to the turning of eye lashes inwards towards the cornea. The cornea is continuously scratched and damaged and can lead to corneal ulcers and ultimately vision loss. The disease does not lead to fatality though, maximum impact it can have is that of vision loss.
