Sensory systems are highly specialized sets of organs that allow organisms to pick up a wide range of signals from the environment.

The sensory organs are the ears, nose, eyes, tongue and skin, they are sensitive to stimuli and send nerve impulses to the brain, which interprets them and provides a response.Through the senses, the characteristics, position and changes of the objects that surround us are perceived, they are grouped into the sense organs and correspond to the five senses: hearing, smell, sight, taste, and touch.When sensory systems fail, problems are generated when processing data from the senses, presenting symptoms such as hypersensitivity, lack of coordination, hyposensitivity, etc.

Therefore, we can conclude that the sensory system is responsible for processing information from the senses.

A sensory system is a part of the nervous system responsible for processing sensory information. A sensory system consists of sensory receptors, neural pathways, and parts of the brain involved in sensory perception.
