The muscles are connected or linked to bones through tendons which are fibrous, flexible, and tough tissues. A condition called tendonitis occurs when there is a tear in the tendons or they become irritated. This condition may arise due to repeated use or overload to the tendons.

A torn ligament results when a person's body is hit in a manner that deviates the normal body position. It causes a tear in the ligament which links two bones together at a joint. When the blood is accumulated on the outer side of a blood vessel, it leads to hematoma as a result of an injury to the blood vessel.
