the primary focus in the conventional level of kohlberg’s theory is pleasing and seeking the approval of others. this level is based on the acceptance of social standards of right and wrong. stage 3 in this second level is the good boy/good girl stage. individuals in this stage judge behaviors as right or wrong by their effects on social relationships. stage 4 is the law and order stage. individuals in this stage judge behaviors as right or wrong based on rules established in society.

The primary focus of Kohlberg's conventional level is that an individual's sense of moral reasoning is tied to the norms of society.

The two stages of conventional level are:

Stage 3- Good Interpersonal Image

The person/child conforms to the to the rules of society to maintain a good boy/good girl image.
