The sell by date tells you when that item should be sold by

An expiration date and sell by date are 2 different things

The expiration date tells you when the food shouldn’t be eaten anymore

The sell by date tells you (or the store) when that item should be sold by (hence the it’s name)...usually if something is past it's sell by date, it’s still ok to eat
