How long do children stay in a juvenile detention center?

Well, it depends. Children get sentenced to a certain amount of time depending on what they did. For example, if a child shot someone they would probably be there for at least 2 years, but it would be different if the person was killed. The Juvenile Detention Center is different from actual jail, of course, and children don’t usually get punished as much state wise because they are not adults, and adults get harsher consequences. It usually depends on what they did to get them in there. some only stay in there for a couple months while others are in there for years. it all depends.
