The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster has been described as one of the worst nuclear disasters in the entire world. The accident happened in the morning on April 26, 1986. Mostly all of the workers in the power plant at the time of the explosion eventually died, or developed life-long symptoms. Towns nearby the power plant had to be evacuated, but most of the citizens were already complaining about symptoms of radiation. They say that the place will not be safe to enter until 20 thousand years from now.

The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster took place in what is today Ukraine. Back in 1986, Ukraine was part of the USSR.

The Chernobyl disaster is still the most catastrophic nuclear disaster that has ever happened. The USSR had tried to hide what had happened, but the winds took the radiation all across Europe and scientists in Sweden were able to pick up the radiation in the air. Only then did USSR admit what had happened.
